Frequently Asked Questions

What is Guest Goods?

Guest Goods connects short-term rental hosts with consumer brands by providing free full-sized product samples for your guests. You simply display the basket in your property — we handle the rest. Guests can scan the QR code to learn more or buy the product, and you can even earn a small commission.

Can I pick the samples I receive?

Not yet. To keep things simple (and shipping efficient), baskets are curated based on your property type — for example, “Beach Getaway,” “Family Friendly,” or “Romantic Escape.”
In future updates, we’ll allow hosts to customize their baskets or opt in to specific categories like snacks, beauty, or health.

Why is there a sign up fee?

The one-time sign-up fee helps cover administrative setup, shipping of your starter basket, and verification that your listing is active and appropriate for sampling. We want to make sure each participating host and property provides a great experience for both guests and brands. After that, participation is free — and you’ll continue to receive monthly refills based on product availability.

How often will I receive new products?

Typically once per month. We’ll send refills that you can use to restock your existing basket — no need to replace the container or materials.

Each month, you’ll estimate how many check-ins you expect for the upcoming month. We understand this number can change due to cancellations or last-minute bookings — it’s just to help us plan inventory and shipping.

If you end up with extras at the end of the month, please use them and factor that into your next month’s estimate. If guests don’t use all the samples you’ve set out, you’re welcome to keep or donate the unused samples.

How much can I earn?

Earnings are small but fun — think of it as coffee money for hosting well.

Here’s how it works:

• $0.10 per scan (each time a guest scans your QR code)
• 0.5% of all purchases made from those scans

Earnings depend on how many guests you host and how often they engage. The main reward is offering a great guest experience — the earnings are just a nice bonus.

How do I get paid?

We issue payouts monthly via digital gift cards or direct deposit once your earnings reach the minimum threshold (usually $10). You can track your scans and purchases through your Guest Goods Host Dashboard.

Do I have to display every product?

No. If something doesn’t fit your space or audience, just skip it. However, we provide family friendly samples, and can’t imagine many scenarios where a sample wouldn’t be relevant. We do ask that the basket remains visible in a guest-accessible area like a kitchen counter or welcome station.

If there’s a reason, you’re not going to display a sample, please let us know so we don’t continue to send that brand in future shipments.

What happens if a guest complains about a product?

Guests are under no obligation to try anything. Each basket includes a disclaimer reminding them to check ingredients, age recommendations, and allergy warnings. Guest Goods and the host are not responsible for product misuse or reactions.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel anytime. Just email team@guestgoodsco.com and we’ll remove you from the active refill list. You can keep or discard your basket — no returns required.

Can my account be deactivated?

If we have reason to believe the samples aren’t being set out as contracted, we can deactivate your account. If we don’t receive scans from your property in a three month period, we will first send a notice.

We do offer opportunities to upload photos of your basket (and win monthly prizes!) to prevent deactivation in the off chance your guests just aren’t engaging during that time.

We may also periodically check calendars to ensure that the amount of samples are in line with your submission. If you request 10 baskets of samples, but your calendar is empty, we may deactivate your account.
